Tragic Bus Crash Claims Another Victim
The terrible bus crash that claimed the lives of several Blufton University baseball players and coaches claimed yet another life earlier today. Zach Arend, an 18 year old from Ohio, is the latest victim in this horrible accident that could have so been so easily prevented.
The accident occurred after the buses driver mistook an exit ramp for the highway in the early hours this passed Friday. This highway exit has been the cause of many lesser accidents over the last few years. Transit authorities could have easily avoided this tragic accident, which claimed so many young lives, by installing better lighting or even more descript signage. It is a terrible loss for both the school and the community.
It struck me as somewhat crazy when local officials down there in Atlanta and with the state of Georgia indicated that there is nothing wrong with this exit ramp, when they were interviewed on CNN. Unfortunately the rest of the world including these baseball players and their families had to learn just how screwed up the roads are down here the hard way.
