A Third Winner in Michigan?

It's still early in Michigan, regardless of the time zone you look at, and it is possible that Michigan might just yield a third Republican winner in the primary race there.  The exit polls seem to be shaping up to indicate that Michigan voters are turning out very conservative (as opposed to moderate) and they are turning out for issues as opposed to principles (no ditto heads there).

This seems to spell bad news for John McCain and possibly good news for Michigan's home grown and fled the state,  Mitt Romney.  If Romney wins then the Republicans would have their third unique winner in as many primaries.  Many people have accused the Grand Old Party of almost having a succession plan when it comes to nominating a Presidential candidate.  The party almost seems to give the role to the person that is next in line.

  • George H Bush
  • Bob Dole
  • George W Bush
  • John Mc  - Ooops!

The GOP seems to be experiencing a schizophrenic primary race.  Its not a nomination at all so far, and might truly end up being a race.  That doesn't necessarily spell a successful election cycle however.  The GOP has always had the advantage of figuring things out early and moving to the center quickly.  If this race continues, the Republicans (Like the Democrats) might be stuck fighting it out to the very end and that might just keep gridlock in the election for many more weeks, possibly many months.

With no clear GOP Presidential front-runner in the three primaries to date, it makes all of us wonder just what kind of candidates the GOP is offering intending voters.

Besides, We the People are getting sick and tired of six years of GOP misadventures risking crossing into Fascism.
