Japanese Earthquake possibly caused by Second NK Nuclear Test
UPDATE:
Japanese news has retracted reports that suggest this earthquake was triggered by a Nuclear Test. No other agencies have confirmed a second test as of 12 hours after the initial reports.
Original Story
An earthquake was recorded with a 6.0 measurement on early Wednesday. A tsunami warning was not anticipated. Officials suspect the earthquake may have resulted from a second North Korena nuclear test.
The first North Korean nuclear test is thought to have been a failed attempt. White House officials appear to have leaked classified information that describes North Korea's pre-anouncement of an intent to detonate a 4 kiloton Nuclear explosion. The subsequent explosion barely registered a half of a kiloton.
This botched attempt was thought to be a potential motivation for North Korea to try again and test a second nuclear device. So far US and South Korean officials have not detected any new seismic activity that might confirm a second nuclear test whether successful or a failed attempt.
